In 2000, Radyo 5 which is a famous Turkish radio, published a compilation called “Woman in Rock”… I loved the CD, because I love female rockers, especially Sebnem Ferah. I don’t know why, but I lose myself when I listen to the queens of rock. I like listening to female rockers more than male rockers.
I wanted to make Radyo 5’s compilation continue by creating my own CD, because there wasn’t Dolores, Amy Lee, Sebo and others to mention in Sony Music Turkey’s compilation. So in 2005, I made “Woman in Rock Volume 2” for myself.
“Woman in Rock Volume 3” will come as soon as possible, because Alanis Morisette, Shakira, Aydilge, Ayo, Umay Umay, KT Tunstall, Bonnie Tyler and others wait for entering these compilations…Saturday, November 18, 2006

Today is 22.01.2015. 5 years ago, I’ve told you that there were some missings in the first 5 “Woman in Rock” compilations. Also, in 5 years some new female rockers made their albums or some female pop singers sang songs in rock format. Yes, I didn’t make a “Woman in Rock” compilation for 5 years but in 2015, “Woman in Rock Volume 6” has come. Again, I didn’t put the previous divas. However, Turkish pop singer Nilüfer made 2 rock duet albums and I wanted to choose her duet with the queen of Turkish Rock; Şebnem Ferah even she had a song in “Woman in Rock Volume 2″… And you will see “I Love Rock’n Roll” song again but this time with Britney Spears’ voice… Anyway, here is the list of 2015 version of “Woman In Rock”… I can’t guess when I will make “Woman in Rock”… How many years? With who? I wonder! Maybe you can advice me some girl rockers! 🙂

5 months ago, I didn’t guess when I would do seventh part of “Woman In Rock”… Just like 9 years ago (I mean about 2006) I’ve made 2 CD’s of “Woman in Rock”… Again, strong female rockers and female pop stars who tried to do rock are in the same CD! There are also a few duets made with male celebrities just like Meat Loaf in 2006, Nejat Yavaşoğulları in 2010 and Emre Aydın 5 months ago. Two years, after “Woman in Rock Volume 7”, it was time for “Woman in Rock Volume 8″… Yes, the eighth of my CD series came in 2017. Again, the female rockers weren’t just rock singers. Just the music genre smelled like rock. The songs were played with guitars mostly… However, there were also real female rockers, too! This time, one of the legendary Turkish male rockers Cem Karaca attended the series with a duet with Selda Bağcan and Gülhan’s cover even he is a man! This CD should have named “Woman in Punk” actually… Because it was punkest CD than the others! When you see the list, you will see that I am right:

It is interesting but when I decided to make 9th of this collection series in 2018, I realized that there are still legends left. For example, why didn’t I put Vixen before? It is interesting. Sheryl Crow, Neneh Cherry and some of others are legends, too. And even for now, I added a song for 10th version of the compilation. It will be a surprise. You will see the song’s name next year, maybe. The duet was recorded between two divas. Murat Evgin is male but he had a chance to enter this collection because of his duet with Öykü Gürman. The songs “Sil Baştan” and “Sokak Kızı” entered this compilation again but this time with different vocals. Anyway, we have lost Jill Janus, Aretha Franklin and Dolores Mary Eileen O’Riordan this year. I dedicate this CD to them.
